Diary: Monday morning talk radio

WORD-FM listeners were upset this morning.

Apparently some overenthused Obamamaniac has advocated November 4 being turned into a national holiday to celebrate the US's having turned a page in its history.

Host Russ Cassell, nothing that Presidents Day has historically been a day for White Sales- linens, that is- in department stores, if we adopt this new Obama Day, shouldn't there be Black Sales?

A caller was mightily distressed to have learned the president-elect may undo some of President Bush's executive orders with executive orders of his own.

She was also worried that there is a thing called "Signing Statements" where the president can say he doesn't think this or that bit of a congressional enactment is constitutional.

Such things are undemocratic, she declared. They bypass Congress and the Constitution. How can this new administration get away with such things? she wondered.

How, indeed?
