Another brainwave to attract young voters

SC's schizoid attitude toward education progresses apace in the legislature. A House subcommittee has passed up a measure to let school districts cancel previously-guaranteed pay raises to save money- even after imposing five unpaid service days to save more money.

Now a legislative committee has produced a plan to cancel kids' drivers' licenses until age 18 if they dropout or go excessively truant from the schools that virtually every indicator says are giving them little or no actual education.
