Here's a cautionary tale for the next time you hear hacks in the Fair Tax Movement natter on about a value added type tax: the UK is raising it's VAT from 17.5% to 20%.

Mike Huckabee was a big shill for the Fair Tax, but never mentioned that to replace existing taxes with the "Fair Tax" would require a tax rate of 34%.

Nowhere has a VAT ever replaced income and other taxes completely. It's just another regressive tax. But when your goal in political life is to lock in wealth for the wealthy, who cares?
