In other parts of the countries, NPR and PBS stations are owned by universities or nonprofits.
In South Carolina SC ETV and Radio is owned by the state.
So as we're having a snow emergency- well, what passes for one in these parts- the only weather news we're getting is regular bulletins from the public media that stumps endlessly for cash from residents-for state employees. They get to stay home today, and arrive late tomorrow. The general citizenry? Well, you gotta figure it out on your own. The only news operation SC ETV has is a rip and read from the Post & Courier every day.
