Neither one getting much press lately, Franklin Graham is praising Barronelle Stuzman, the martyred florist of Richland, on his Facebook page. He's also taking a page from The Family Research Council, exhorting readers to pray for each of the right-wing justices of the Supreme Court.He lovingly dawdles over details of each's Reaganite annunciation:
Today, please pray for Justice Antonin Scalia, who was appointed to the court 29 years ago by President Reagan.
In his riff on Stutzman, Graham concludes:
I assure you this affects each and every one of us. There will be a storm of persecution against all people who follow God and His standards if this passes.
This has always been the standard line of defense in the marriage equality battles of the last 25 years: always, it is horrors to come that are promised. And each time, they have not come to pass.
