The Incredible Shrinking Newspaper Industry

Editor & Publisher reports The Portland Tribune, a twice-weekly to the Newhouse chain's utterly awful Oregonian, will downsize staff and go weekly, putting it in competition with the "still the 70s" Willamette Week and The Stranger's sister pub The Portland Mercury.

Maybe this is the way newspapers will go- an online presence with a weekly paper version. Who knows? But God knows, we need more voices in a world of one-paper towns.
