John McCain's free pass for religious wingnuttery

That little pixie, Rev. John Hagee, has pulled a stunt worthy of the Monty Python skit on Papal Infallibility ("Ah, yes, well...I've thought it over some more and decided I am infallible after all"). In a new radio interview he says his retraction of his previous comments about New Orleans being sent Hurricane Katrina for hosting Southern Decadence was wrong, and he was right the first time wishing thousands of people to die for living in a sinful city. Keith Olbermann and Eugene Robinson wonder why John McCain hasn't been called to the woodshed for the triumvirate of lunatics he claims as spiritual/political inspirations: Hagee, Jerry Falwell, and Rod Parsley:
