And the truth shall set you free

Russell Verney, Babar the Libertarian's campaign manager, is annoyed.

See, back when Barr was a Republican- and even now- the GOP's goal was to create a federal court system that knew its place, which was- and is- to give Republicans what they want, when they want it. The dismissal of the US Attorneys was entirely based on that point.

So when Babar didn't get asked to Rick Warren's audition to become the Evangelical Oprah, he did what any small-government conservative would do: he went to federal court to demand a minister be forced to let Barr invade his church.

The court ruled, in part:
“Plaintiffs will lose out on a fair amount of exposure and the opportunity to express their views in a popular forum,” California U.S. District Court Judge David O. Carter explained in his report. “On the other hand, halting this event would deny the other candidates the opportunity to be heard and would deprive the public of an opportunity to see the candidates and hear their views. Forcing Saddleback to include another candidate at the last moment could cause serious logistical problems and take away from the presentations of other candidate. This might well disrupt the planned presentation. Barr and Root will have many other opportunities in the coming months to express their views and make their candidacy known.”

Verney then came up with a wonderfully unscripted summary of Babar's chances in November-

“When I first read that report, I’ll admit I was a bit hot under the collar,” writes Verney:

In response to the Judge Carter’s final comment, I angrily said to myself, “Name one!”
