Cabbage: THE self-proclaimed pre-eminent SC politics blog, for 77 more days

South Carolina's trial lawyer lobby has launched - "sponsored" is the euphémisme de la journée- Cabbage, a late summer/autumn vegetable about politics- the only plan to run through the November election- euphemised as SC Election Watch.

It's also billed as "a project of SC Statehouse Report, the Palmetto State's leading weekly policy and politics forecast."

After all that comes the opening credit roll of executive producers, associate producers and assistant producers. They have an editor, a publisher and a cartoonist, hacks of both parties, and five legislators as part of "the team." "The team is named in two places. In one it has eleven members; the other, sixteen. One is Backbench blogger Senator Kevin Bryant, who is fast becoming the Kevin Costner of blogdom. One of their links to their moneybaggers leads one to Search.com, which asks,

Did you mean: www.scaj.org

Well, uh, yes.

With all the firepower one team or the other could muster, so far they are acting as a clip service for the state's newspapers.
