Waldo is beside himself. First a link by Andrew Sullivan (who seems to have been removed to an undisclosed location), and now- a dissing by The Palmetto Scoop:

• BEAUFORT PONDERS CELL PHONE DRIVING BAN — After being nearly hit a few times myself, I’m a pretty big fan of banning the use of cell phones for talking or text messaging while driving. So I applaud the Beaufort City Council and Mayor George O’Kelley for considering criminalizing the act. Sure it would tough to enforce, but it would at least allow anyone who causes a wreck while using their phone to be charged, which would possibly help reduce accidents. Something else that would reduce accidents? Giving this guy a sippy cup.
