Next stop the Dinah Shore, Condi?

-The car seat belt is turning 50, and provides an interesting insight into the effects of the nanny state: we all have to wear them, but we still get wiped out in crashes because the safer we feel, the more risks we take.

-Slate's tech guy wonders why so many reasonably tech-savvy people are taking a pass on Twitter, as it rewards the well-known for being well-known.


And politicians, who love media that allow them to give the semblance of interest in what their constituents think, are all over Twitter in the UK. Mr. Donehue, meet Tweetminster.

On the flip side, have any of the political class who champion discussing Middle East policy 130 words at a time, stopped to consider how many people aren't well-off enough, and tech-savvy enough, to be tweeters? For GOP "modernizers" who think Twitter is the coming salvation, it's a sucker bet.
