Who's nuttier? US or UK TV news anchors? Find out here:

Awhile back Savonarola got up on his hind legs (evolutionists, take note) to protest the salaries some gay rights groups pay their leaders. As George H.W. Bush might have said, "Message: they're on the gravy train."

Today Pam's House Blend has an item about how Concerned Women of America, founded and run by 79 year-old Beverly LaHaye, wife of apocalyptic novelist Tim LaHaye, spent 53 cents of every dollar good, God-fearing homophobes contributed to pay for- - more fundraising last year.

Wanna talk about sinecures? Wikipedia reports: One of their sons, Lee LaHaye, is the chief financial officer of Concerned Women for America and is alleged to be openly gay.[1][2

A few notes of interest:
  • Their deficit for the year was $767,716
  • This left them with a negative net asset value of $49,875.
  • Their payables ballooned 44% from $832 thousand to $1.2 million. Their vendors are are probably not being paid on time — if at all.
  • Included in the donation total is $129,000 that they booked as a receivable. In other words funds pledged but nor received.
  • J. Matt (Bam Bam) Barber was being paid $91,000.
  • They paid Jancie Shaw Crouse as a consultant a sum of $115,433.There are some potential tax issues.
  • Two of the outside contractors have conflicts of interest. For expample, Advanced Marketing Concepts is owned by Beverly LaHaye's son and received $265,177.

Matt Barber is not only a consultant to CW at a handsome price, but associate dean for career and professional development at Liberty University School of Law, which one of Jerry Falwell's sons took over when the old man died. Barber is also a honcho at Liberty Counsel, which is run by Matt Staver- and Staver's wife.

As The Church lady used to say, "How conveeeeen-ient."

Twitter/EasterNews: A New York City Episcopal congregation Tweeted The Passion today. An Alabama Southern Baptist housewife offers some smugly generous "Easter Tips for Heathens."

Not one but two Washington Times reporters got assigned to ferret out why Madame Tussauds DC waxworks feature no Republican First Ladies. Republican pollster Kellyanne Conway said, "If they are going to be buried next to their husbands, they should be immortalized forever [alongside] them in wax."
