If she'd been black, or a young Democrats activist, would the response have been the same?

A Young Republican activist got her home broken into and was seriously injured in the process.

Conservative bloggers are rallying readers to her support. Even Anaconda is concerned. Over at The Progressive Borg, a unit blogs that it'd be a "classy" thing to do to support an activist across the aisle

But, to step back a few paces, what warrants such solicitude towards one victim of home invasion when so many occur in this crime-ridden state? Why are other, similar victims not entitled to the same consideration? Are some crime victims more blogworthy than others? If a crime is horrific doesn't every victim of it deserve a website?
