Contractors make good contributors

Given Republican opposition to the stimulus package, who knew making a parking lot could be so...Republican?

  1. The parking lot is privately-owned, thus no tax dollars were involved in the project.

I just knew the conspiracy theory was bound to come out, and I'll confess to not being surprised you were the one who floated it.

He was invited in his capacity as a prominent elected official and stuck to a non-political script.

But before you go suggesting political agengas were at work, I also invited:

Gresham Barrett - was invited via email with campaign staffer, could not attend.

Andre Bauer - was out of state, but as you noticed, his staff attended with a letter of congrats.

Larry Grooms - invited in a phone convo, never confirmed or showed.

Nikki Haley - invited in a phone message, and campaign staffer said she could not attend.

Jim Rex - invited in a phone convo with his scheduler, never confirmed or showed.

Vincent Sheheen - invite made to a campaign scheduler in a phone convo, never confirmed or showed.

Columbia City Council was invited, none showed.

Richland County Council and the Sheriff were as well. Only Malinowski showed.

I also directly contacted staffs for Senators Lourie and Jackson, as well as Rep. Anton Gunn and Bakari Sellers.

So give the conspiracy talk a break, ok? Maybe one day, you will stop letting your hate trip get in the way of credible discourse.
