ASKING FOR IT — Charleston County has a $155 million plan to fix the heavy traffic congestion around Boeing Co.’s North Charleston operation well before the company’s 787 Dreamliner assembly plant opens next year. The county’s economic development committee voted Thursday to ask the state Transportation Infrastructure Bank for most of the money through a loan. The county could later pursue federal stimulus money, state funds and other federal appropriations with the help of Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham and House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn.

Palmetto Morning underscores how you simply can't believe anything state economic development/political leaders tell you about the SC's "cheap land, tax bribes and ill-educated workers" economic development program. On top of the hundreds of millions already promised to Boeing, dealing with traffic congestion will cost another $155 million, which Charleston County wants those evil, wasteful state and federal elected officials to dole out:
