TPM has more on the tale of Greg Brown, who challenged Congressman James Clyburn for the D nomination this year. Brown paid a sackful to a Republican consultant whose career has been almost entirely tied to Congressman Joe Wilson and Wilson's son, who's running for SCAG. It's not apparent whether this makes Brown a GOP "plant" or whether his claim is true that he couldn't find anybody else to help him take on an unbeatable incumbent, or whether he didn't know any better than to ask a Republican consultant to help him in a Democratic primary.
