The weirdness of the Senator Ensign case just keeps on going. It develops that he had an affair with an employee who was his best friend's wife, who was married to a man who was another employee and his best friend.
The affair and the intertwinedness is old news but that it went back to high school- well, that's kinda creepy. Then Ensign's parents give a huge gift to the Hamptons and all their kids but one, and it becomes severance pay. Or was it the other way around? It gets very confusing.
As was the case with the email amours of former congressman Mark Foley, the question may become- how many other senators covered for what they knew Ensign was doing. Prime suspect? Former senator Rick Santorum, and sitting senator Tom Coburn.
