A note from management

It looks as though circumstances will require giving up this little operation for a while, if not for good, shortly. I'm not sure just when, or for how long, but when I took a previous time-out some readers expressed concern about my well-being. So this is a sort of potential plant-closing warning. I'm hoping it won't be necessary- or, if it is- only briefly, but last time I just stopped for a while that turned into a longer while.

It has been an interesting journey these four years. Reader comments have been the best thing about the project- they've run the gamut from praise to rage. I've learned a lot from them, and will miss hearing from the regular readers.

As Lincoln said in another time and place, the world will little note, nor long remember, what was said here. But the unruly democracy that is the blogdom is a good thing for letting average people say what's on their minds, and that's what I've done.

  1. I for one will miss you.
If nothing else for how much you could infuriate the conservative bloggers.
Hope everything works out well for you.

  2. I'll miss you, too. I don't comment often, but I have been a regular reader. I know more about Carolina politics (North and South) than I could have ever imagined. Thanks for the great blog-reading. Cheers!

  3. Sad to hear the news, Waldo. Your blog is one of the few I can count on in South Carolina to be of high quality, no matter whether it's my sacred cow being gored or someone else's.

I hope this change is an indication of something positive; you're too good a writer not be using your talents somewhere.

Take care and perhaps someday we can hoist a beer and debate the merits of high-speed rail in person.
