Senator DeMint's still not endorsing anyone for president, but...:
As DeMint left, an audience member asked what he thought of Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels as nominee material at the convention.
“He’s the only one who could make it happen,” DeMint said. “But I don’t think his wife will let it happen.”
DeMint shows the forgiving nature of SC evangelical voters, who would have never cottoned to a candidate like Daniels just a few years ago. He was the second President Bush's budget director during the time the budget swung from a $230 billion surplus to a $400 billion deficit, and said the war in Iraq would only cost $50-60 billion; his grandparents came from Syria; he's got a dope arrest on his record; and he's been married to the same woman since 1978- except for the 1993-97 period when Mrs Daniels divorced him, married another man, divorced him, and remarried Daniels.
Then came The Gingrich.
