Trust me, he says, it'll all work out.

Mitt Romney's telling people in Missouri some new fabulisms about himself, that he wants to drill for lots of oil not for American use, but to sell overseas, and that he has a magical budget-balancing act up his sleeve:

This was Romney's first public event in the Show-Me-State, so we wanted to know, does he say Missouri or Missourah?
"You know I've always said Missouri." He adds, "I know as I get to other parts of the state its Missourah. But I'll stick with Missouri 'cause that's what I know best," he said.
Romney also says he has yet to try toasted ravioli and gooey butter cake, but he'd like to.
..."We're going to start drilling again in the Gulf, we're going to drill in the outer continental shelf, we're going to drill in North Dakota, Oklahoma and Texas. That communicates to the world that there will be more supply coming from the U.S. And that affects the price of gasoline," said Romney.

In other news, Romney continues to balance the federal budget on the backs of a few federal agencies that don't so much add up to a hill of beans, moneywise, as they do irritate Teabaggers:

"The test is pretty simple. Is the program so critical, it's worth borrowing money from China to pay for it? And on that basis of course you get rid of Obamacare, that's the easy one. Planned Parenthood, we're going to get rid of that. The subsidy for Amtrak, I'd eliminate that. The National Endowment for the Arts, the National Endowment for the Humanities," he said.

Let's see just how much that adds up to (in millions):

Amtrak (2010)            $ 1.565
Planned Parenthood       1.850*
NEA (2011)                    .154
NEH (2011)                    .154

Let's throw in a few others that may have slipped his mind while he was trying to remember what he likes to eat in Missouri. Romney has also called for eliminating:

Corporation for
   Public Broadcasting     .430
Legal Services
   Corporation                 .420

Romney claims Obamacare repeal will save $95 billion but not over what period of time or how.

The total for his targeted agencies? $4.573 billion. Add in his Obamacare number? Let's make it a round $100 billion.
The FY 2011 projected deficit is $1.27 trillion.
