Maybe it's just me, but conservative art preferences remind me a lot of the styles in vogue in Germany and the Soviet Union, say, 1935-45:
Behold the latest painting by our generation’s conservative Norman Rockwell, Jon McNaughton.
“One Nation Under Socialism” depicts the president glaring devilishly as he holds a flaming copy of the Constitution. The painting would be especially inviting in an entryway or living room.
McNaughton was previously known for his most famous work, “The Forgotten Man.”
In a YouTube video explaining the meaning behind “One Nation Under Socialism,” McNaughton narrates as the sound of flames crackle in the background:

I painted a picture of Barack Obama. This is my pledge: I pledge allegiance to the United States of America and not to an ideology which can never stand. ReplyDeleteYou show me a person who would put this up in an entryway or living room and consider it "inviting," and I'll show you a person I'm going to stay far, far away from.
Maybe my eyesight is going, but it looks like a brown grocery bag burning, not the Constitution. Maybe it's a bag holding the Constitution. Whatever it is, it's of a quality that would rate a C-minus in an 12th grade art class.
If it's a bag, maybe it's a flaming blivet, to be left on the nation's doorstep...
