The campaign by Arizona's Republican congressional delegation to snatch the crazy crown that's been volleyed back and forth for years between Texas and Georgia took a big step forward the other day. Congressman Jeff Flake, who's running for the US Senate, wishes people couldn't vote for him.
In 2009 Flake spent a week on a deserted island in the Pacific. He said that, ever since he left his childhood ranch, "I've felt like a pansy, I guess, and this made it feel like I was actually doing
something again."
Flake later said he thought "pansy" meant "wimpy."
