Handed a stinging- and rare- defeat for his cherished goal of enacting a comprehensive antigay rights law yesterday, NC state Rep. Paul Stam announced he will not seek re-election.
In his announcement, he also highlighted one of the most cherished of his party's hypocrisies: term limits, but not for me:
When asked why he stayed in office for what will be 16 years, he said, "The longer I was here, the more problems I saw that needed to be fixed."
