Last call: attaboys for Pat

Less than eight hours remain in the term of North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory.

He ran as the Republican nominee in 2008, 2012, and 2016.

The first time, the voters said, "Nope."

Then they said, "OK, we'll give you a chance."

Then they said, "More? Say HELL to the No!"

His dieharders are posting parting thoughts of spite and bile on the Governor's official facebook page. Just as there are people outside France who insist Jerry Lewis is the world's greatest comedian, there are North Carolinians who cheer his last-minute stacking of aides and their spouses on state boards and in specially-created judgeships;  his emergency appeal to the Supreme Court to let the General Assembly off the hook for the racially-drawn legislative district lines they worked so hard to draw, and his devotion to the preservation of coal ash ponds.

Most touching is the comment of an apparent dementia sufferer: "You are the best governor in my memory."
