Mary Beard, the brilliant Cambridge classics scholar, considers how women getting power is always perceived as a threat. It's a variant of people who want free stuff, or to take yours.

London Review of Books has the whole speech, and an audio clip. It's worth a read/listen. Better than that: it's a must. Unless, of course, you are feeling insecure.
