His fundraising dead in the water, and nearly out of right-wing media outlets to claim as proof he leads a movement, Deplorable Pride's Brian Talbert has decided to try explaining why he wants you- and not the Republicans he claims as his supporters- to bankroll his still-secret plans.
Here's Talbert's original Gofundme.com pitch:
We as a minority within a minority know discrimination first hand. We are having to fideght it from those who know what it is like to be discriminated against. It is an out numbered fight. We need all the help we can get in order to fight the majority within the minority. Help keep our voice heard.On that he wanted you to give him one hundred thousand dollars: him, personally and unaccountably.
And for what? First he said it was for a lawsuit against Charlotte Pride, which denied him a permit for a float festooned in bunting, flags, a Statue of Liberty, and a gaggle of drag queens in "Make America Great Again Evening Dresses." His aim is to glorify the President.
As Talbert put it in a mash note last week:
After a week, Talbert said he wouldn't take a slot in the parade if handed to him on a barge pole- which would eliminate the need for a legal fund- but didn't change the non-reason he wanted $100,000.
Now he has added a long, semi-literate screed about why he wants the money, but he still won't say for what. Let's be fair and balanced: you read. You decide:
I have been informed that I need to be more clear on who I am and what intentions for money are. Seems the only ones who are not clear are the one not donating a dime. Freedom loving Americans have full knowledge of what they are giving their money to. But to make things clear, here goes.
My name is Brian Talbert and I am the co-founder of DeplorablePride.org My organization planned to enter a float in the Charlotte Gay Pride Parade. We were denied simply for being gay Republicans. The discrimination that we experienced from our own people led us to do whatever it took to get this strory and and fight them til they allow ALL gays to be a part of gay pride. We plan on using the money for any legal means neseccery to insure that the hypocrisy is exposed and finally corrected. I plan on the money being held in an accoun t until we need it for use in educating or legally demostrating our right to fix this wrong. As of the time 12:54pm on 6/21/2017 not one single penny has been removed from this account. So for those who claim we are searching for some fast cash, there is your answer. We are depending on the freedom loving Americans who know what was done here in Charlotte was wrong. They are the ones that tell us everyday.
