I s'pose I am seriously maladjusted but I've always felt pity for Charles Whitman. He knew he was coming apart and he recognized that his thoughts were deadly for others. He wanted help and he tried to get help. I'm certainly not qualified to speak on it but I'm personally convinced the brain tumor was the source of his thoughts and actions.
