Congressional Republicans finally haul out their Weiner

TMZ.com. "The constant abuse of online activity must stop," he wrote in 2011.

UPDATE:

Congressman Barton leaned on the woman to whom he sent the sweet nothing above he'd ruin her career if she ever made them public.

Rather unfortunately for Congressman Barton, the woman recorded the conversation, and now the papers have it.

He's blaming her.

Texas Congressman Joe Linus Barton is a 68-year-old Tea Party member who anchors the far right of the House Freedom Caucus, the Republican Study Committee, the Congressional Cement Caucus, and as cofounder of the Congressional Privacy Caucus.

The Economist calls the former oil and gas consultant and past chair of the Energy and Commerce Committee "as curious as a dead cat" when it comes to most aspects of science outside the glories of coal, oil and gas.

Barton is the one on the left.

He has never seen a human rights issue he could support in his 32 years on Capitol Hill. In March, pressed by a constituent over his opposition to renewing the Violence Against Women Act (it's a state issue, which in Texas means it's a non-issue), he told the man, “You,” he said, pointing to a man in the audience. “You, sir, shut up.”

Married twice (1970-2003; 2004-2015), Barton is now explaining how his ostentatious piety and family values posturing co-exists with a penchant adultery and nude selfies.

Barton signals a new spin on sexual impropriety as more shoes are expected to drop around political moralizers under state and federal domes. No Anthony Wiener nor Roy Moore he:
While separated from my second wife, prior to the divorce, I had sexual relationships with other mature adult women. Each was consensual. Those relationships have ended.
Now he's sorry. And still running for re-election.
