We hate to keep beating on one candidate, but as the race tightens she just can't seem to help offering more and more material. Mrs. Clinton's interview with The Washington Blade is a masterpiece of saying nothing while seeming to day a lot. It highlights her reflex response on gay issues, which is to cite whatever the Human Right Campaign thinks. HRC- the group, not the candidate- has been a massive, ineffective, money-hoover for years, a virtually wholly-owned subsidiary of HRC- the candidate- assuring people things have simultaneously never been better and never been worse, that real results are always several election cycles away, and that the answer is to just listen to our betters and vote the way we are told.
Can anyone cite a single instance where HRC- the candidate, not the group- has ever mentioned gay rights before a campaign crowd, much less a potentially hostile one?
Contrast her reticence with Obama's sermon at Ebenezer Baptist Church three weeks ago.
