A labor of love revives a forgotten master's work

Brilliant news for movie fans: a new company has assembled (in some instances, reassembled) all the surviving films of the French pioneer Georges Melies:


Here, Melies himself as a reanimated head in The Man With the Rubber Head, from 1901. Full particulars here.

And here, from last Christmas, Melies' most famous film, A Voyage to the Moon and Smashing Pumpkins' brilliant homage, Tonight, Tonight. Enjoy. The world is a grim place these days.
