We're curious because of this "Remind Bubba He's Not Running" moment on the NC primary trail:
'NBC's First Read has this little sound bite yesterday from Bill Clinton, at a campaign stop in Lebanon, Indiana:
'"Folks, it's always a mistake to bet against America. It was tough in 1968, and we came back. It was tough in 1992 and we wound up with the eight best years we've had in modern history."
'Reporter Carrie Dann noted the crowd "roared in agreement."'
Usually, in the Western paradigm, "Modern" history begins at 1648 with the Treaty of Westphalia.
ReplyDeleteNever been quite sure why.
Modern American history is usually either post-Civil War or post-Reconstruction. Unless you went to the College of William and Mary, where it's (no kidding) Post-War of 1812.
Modern history in Arkansas will start sometime soon.
