Those with a taste for American political scandals will perhaps recall one of the more outre' rogues of the Nixon era, Robert Vesco, whose knack was stealing vast sums of money and trying to buy his way out of the troubles that ensued.

NYT is reporting Vesco died five months ago, having managed to do hard time- of all places- in Cuba.

Or his he dead? Some are not sure.
