Depends on who's got one, apparently

One of the troubles with the Mainstream Gay media is that they have such an ideological slant it gets in the way of values they say they champion- like compassion, grace, fairness and justice- while their opponents across the aisle don't.

Take Pam's Hot Blend. When Senator Ted Kennedy, who's seventy-six, suffered a seizure on Cape Cod and was found to have a brain tumor, they and readers were all over the story, wishing him well.

Ditto Queerty.

Ditto Joe. My. God.

In contrast, when conservative columnist Robert Novak hit a pedestrian last week, Towleroad mocked his claims he didn't know he'd hit anyone. Pam's House Blend followed suit:

Perhaps it's time to take the keys away if The Compassionate Conservative Prince of Darkness couldn't see the cyclist he just hit on the hood of his vehicle. Think Progress:
Novak initially "drove away from the scene," but turned around when "a bicyclist stopped him and said, 'You hit someone.'" Novak claimed: "I didn't know I hit anybody." But Washington DC's local ABC affiliate interviewed the bicyclist who saw the incident. WJLA's Suzanne Kennedy reported live from the scene:

I just spoke with the bicyclist about three minutes ago. He tells me that the pedestrian was actually splayed across the front of Novak's convertible, and that there would be absolutely no way Novak would have not known that he had hit someone.

Does he (0.00 / 0)
always sound like that? Sounds to me like he's slurring his words. If he is, did they check for DUI?

Odd, too... I never saw a cop invite someone to sit in the front passenger seat while they wrote up their citation before.

Novack was taken into police custody (0.00 / 0)
I'd pay dearly to see him frog-walked in cuffs, better yet in an orange jumpsuit picking up garbage along the highway.

Oh please. Bob, if the technology is too difficult or distracting, shut off the frigging radio!!

BTW, isn't he a wee bit old for a mid-life crisis car like a Corvette?

Interesting... (3.00 / 1)
According to the Yahoo story, the bicyclist who told him about the accident had to pretty much block him in to prevent him from leaving:

He must have thought the cyclist was Valerie Plame on another one of those cockamamie "secret" CIA missions...

The cyclist is a landshark (0.00 / 0)
It turns out that the cyclist is a Harvard Law grad and former editor of the Law Review.

Unconfirmed sources indicate that the attorney insisted that the victim take his business card - I made that part up.

I like that better!!

So yesterday Novak, who is seventy-seven, fell ill on Cape Cod and has been found to have a brain tumor.

The MSGM is silent. I'm wondering if House Blend commenter Louise, above, feels just a slight bit shame-faced.
