STATION BREAKS TV TRADITION, CREDITS TPS FOR STORY
One of the most frustrating aspects of being a blogger is that getting credit from the mainstream media for a story you break is difficult. And I’m pretty sure most bloggers will agree with me on that.
Surprisingly, newspapers and radio stations are much better at crediting bloggers than television stations (you would think it would be the other way around). Perhaps it’s because there are only a few seconds to cover a story on TV, but getting mentioned in a television story is nearly impossible without the right pull.
Not that I’m complaining here. It’s a fact of life that 21st Century journalists have become increasingly reliant on blogs for stories, and I think that’s great. Hell, any day that we can help drive the news cycle is a great day.
But every once in a while it’s nice to get some love from television stations who use your content.
So hats off to ABC News Columbia, who not only ran with The Palmetto Scoop’s story that Mike Campbell is strongly considering another run for Lt. Governor, but they even gave us some love.
Now if only some other folks in the network news business would extend a similar courtesy.
What happened to all McScoop's friends from The Ruckus?
