End of an era

Heller Ehrman, the San Francisco-based law firm that taught Seattle's white-shoe lawshops they could have openly gay attorneys and not lose their best clients, has fallen prey to the credit crunch after 118 years in business.

But, lawyers being lawyers, they are being absolute shits to their employees.

As Portfolio notes, the firm website says nothing about its dissolution. 

Watch for conservative bloggers to chortle, as they did over the plotz of Washington Mutual, that its last post was on winning a diversity award.

So now we know: gays, browns and blacks sink banks and law firms.
