Is it
just Waldo's easily bruised
feelings, or
has Political Net News gone way more conservative in the last week or so?
Seems like the slant has changed from inclusive to exclusive. Alternately, maybe Waldo has suddenly become boring beyong the telling of it.
Need an example? Just look at Rudy Giuliani. Ask anyone and they’ll tell you that I’m a Rudy Giuliani fan…a big fan. I have his picture on my wall. “Leadership” is one of three books that sit beside my desk. I love the guy. He’s an unbelievable leader. Still, I didn’t support him for President, didn’t even consider it. He is just too liberal on social issues.
Rudy Giuliani and his team believed that Republican primary voters would ignore his stance on life and gay marriage. Obviously they were wrong. As great as Rudy is, he is just wrong on too many issues.
Sorry, Mr Churchill, but you were wrong on The Dardanelles. You were wrong on the gold standard. You crossed the aisle from Conservative to Liberal and back again. You were wrong on India. You were wrong on the abdication. You were wrong on the German remilitarization because you were right but we didn't want to face it. We prefer someone reliably Conservative to succeed Neville. Sir Thomas Inskip. Or Lord Halifax. Maybe Sam Hoare. When our backs are up against it, we can't risk tainting our ideology with a broader view.
Waldo's feelings are easily bruised.
ReplyDeleteI link posts that are relevant or contain well developed arguments. I do not link every post because the good stuff will just get lost.
Need an example? I don't even link all the posts from my personal blog.
I'm a conservative, but I'm doing what I can to post from both sides of the isle. In the meantime, take a shot. It will take the edge off.
