Department of Reader Questions

Tim Kelly at Indigo Journal asks, in response to a comment of Waldo's, who've they excluded from the blog.

In a word: Waldo.

You criticize Indigo Journal, first you get snappy emails. Then you get snappy comments on your blog.

Then you get dropped as a link from Indigo Journal's home page.

Piss them off some more and you get dropped from their progressive bloggers widget.

Why IJ has such an aversion to dissent is their issue, but when you consider Waldo's the only "progressive" blogger not invited to join them, and stiff-armed as many different ways as he has been, considering the same Kelly who posed the question previously called Waldo one of the best progressive bloggers in SC, well, you do the math.

So that's that. Thanks for contacting the Department of Reader Questions. We hope we've clearde up the reader's confusion.

  1. "[W]hen you consider Waldo's the only 'progressive' blogger not invited to join them . . ."

I gotta assume this is part of the blog's create-conflict MO, but since it indirectly implicates me, I have to correct the misstatement of fact. You were invited. Check your email, September 28, 2008 9:50 a.m.

  2. Your self-aggrandizing posts are about as interesting as those found on TPS and FITS.

But maybe that's the secret of success for you and them.

  3. Of course, Anonymous- brave move there- what came before your "invite" was long discussion about what the new blog would look like, followed by YOUR (a) dumping Waldo and another gay-themed liberal SC blog and (b) launching IJ within days. Which means you were just stringing us along.

And there's no denial of how you dangled crumbs afore Waldo and then removed them, one by one.

All of which makes your self-congratulatory ID as THE PROGRESSIVE BLOG just that. An award you've given yourselves.

The funny part is how you just can't seem to deal with any form of criticism, which seems to drive why you keep coming after Waldo.

If liberals are about anything it's freedom of thought. Not about defining in liberal bloggers who toe your line, and defining out those who dare to challenge you.

No matter. Waldo's doing fine on his own.
