As much as we spar with the Palmetto Scoop from time-to-time, we’re honestly glad for some semblance of competition here in the S.C. political blogosphere.
After all, we’re sure as hell not going to get it from those raving lunatics over at SC Hotline.
So props to Adam Fogle & Co. (a.k.a. Richard Quinn & Associates) for keeping us on our toes by unveiling Scoop 2.0 today.
It’s actually a decent looking upgrade to the site … and we’re not even going to say “for us to poop on.”
Or at least we’re not going to say it twice.
The "some semblance of competition" part give Waldo a fit of giggles. For all its failings BlogNetNews' ratings system is the best comparative rating the SC blogdom has, and, as is usually the case, FITSNews was nowhere to be found in its conservative influence ratings:
Conservative Influence
Measures the impact that right-leaning blogs have on the conversation among right-leaning blogs. Blogs that score higher on the conservative influence measure than they do on the "Official" measure may have fewer posts the other side considers controversial or simply discuss issues of more interest within the conservative community than to a wider audience.
And on BNN's rolling 12 week average influence ratings- well, Willie's got more competition for ideas than he lets on:
Average Influence
This measure tracks each blog over the last twelve weeks in a rolling average, producing a more stable measure of influence that reflects a blogs longer-term impact on the blogospheric conversation rather than the "Official" single week results which can be influenced by a few really good or really controversial posts.
And he's got the "Penis" mention count down by a mile.
... and somehow, I'm not a conservative blog?!? Go figure.
ReplyDeleteI've always been skeptical of how these numbers are generated. You see blogs which are near the top with little or no discussion and others which are lower-ranked which have lots of discussion.
Discussion, to me, seems to be a good measure of readership volume - or schizophrenia - or both.
Only issue I take with the comments on the posts are that folks, no pun intended don't use their own names, hmmm...
