‘COLLEGE GAMEDAY’ HOST DANCES WITH CLEMSON CHEERLEADER TO KELLY CLARKSON
There’s something about South Carolina’s Upstate that makes some people want to “get down.”
Greenville Congressman Bob Inglis did it in an extremely awkward campaign video in which he donned a wig and danced to disco.
And, on Saturday night, ESPN analyst Digger Phelps followed suit in Clemson when “College Gameday” rolled into the cow town to cover the Tigers’ game against Duke.
Prior to the game, Phelps and Mallory Mitchell, a senior member of the Clemson Rally Cats dance team, began spontaneously dancing to Kelly Clarkson’s “Walk Away.” And, fortunately for us, there were plenty of cameras there to catch the moment.
No. 6 Duke, by the way, was able to handle Clemson, defeating the Tigers 60-47.
Asked his thoughts on the pre-game dance, Clemson coach Oliver Purnell told The State “I didn’t see it, but I heard the reviews. [Jay] Bilas’ exact word, I think, was ‘creepy.’”
Asked my thoughts on it, I also differed to Bilas’ analysis.
But what I think isn’t important. I want to knwo what you think…
The odd bit is that the link to Inglis' video is from 2008-which makes you wonder what the hell it means in terms of his post- and Boyo thought it "creepy" as well. Apparently the word is code for "not a client of my paymasters."
