BlogNetNews goes under; to be replaced by new Golden Globes categories?

BlogNetNews.com, the idiosyncratic aggregator and blog influence ratings venture, has shuttered it doors and yanked its rating widgets.

BNN's owner, Dave Mastio, is said to have posted on his Facebook page, "“I think blognetnews is gone for good, or at least until the economy picks back up again.”

Mastio's rightyblogs.com appears to have sunk beneath the waves as well.

His main gig seems to be as an editorialist for the non-newspaper and former Moonie cult read, The Washington Times. That sort of right-wing connection goes a long way to explaining why BNN let a conservative SC blog have two ratings in the top 20 simultaneously for ages while scrubbing blogs that drew high ratings from both liberal and conservative readers.

But it served a useful civic purpose pissing off FITSNews.com when it ranked blogs Will Folks considered beneath his notice higher than his.
