A Florida minister whose congregants anointed a local highway says the atheist group that came along and scrubbed said pavement with "unholy water" was just trying to get attention.
This may be the biggest case of religion hitting the road since the 35 days of prayer- and attendant "purity sieges" God's Weatherman, Pat Robertson, ordained for Interstate 35 in 2007. Another group picked up the campaign again in early 2008.
Interstate 35 does not seem to be Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul's vaguely satanic "NAFTA Superhighway" but it, too, is supposed to bisect the US, gutting the heartland of the homeland for strange new influences to get spread.
