Obsessed by appearing straight, Republicans can't shoot straight when it comes to voter suppression

Writing at Slate, Emily Bazelon cites new expert analysis in the PA voter ID trial that suggests the main bloc barred at the voting booth come November may be about-to-become-way-angrier white voters.
Of course, the odd thing about all these new voter suppression identification laws is that they are argued for as a necessity to prevent massive voter fraud that, so far, no one has been able to find occurring anywhere. Out in the silent dog whistle frequencies of the Internet, this is of no particular consequence. All you have to do is whisper, "ACORN" and flash the photo of those nitwits claiming to be New Black Pantherites*, and you know who's being aimed at in the American electorate, and why. Bazelon's piece has a valuable link to a summary of just how badly Republicans want to win by making it hard to vote. Winning on their ideas is, everyone agrees, a non-starter.
