He's at it again

South Carolina pol Henry McMaster really, really hates the idea of not bring important. He really, really likes being on public payrolls.

So he's running for lieutenant governor.

McMaster was US Attorney from 1981 to 1985. In 1986 he dithered over running for lieutenant governor or attorney general, and decided to run for the US Senate. After challenging incumbent Fritz Hollings to take a drug test ("Henry, I'll take a drug test if you'll take an intelligence test," Hollings replied. McMaster lost.

In 1990 McMaster ran for lieutenant governor. He lost.

From 2003 to 2011 McMaster served as SC attorney general, where, among other things, eh championed a constitutional ban no marriage equality. Sometime in there he was also chair of the SCGOP for a minute.

In 2010 McMaster ran for governor. He lost the Republican primary.
