In my lifetime, holders of that title have included Sunbeam (remember "Chainsaw Al" Dunlap?); J.C. Penny, Sears, AOL Time Warner, Lehman Bros, Barnes & Noble; Dell; Netscape; Cray; Enron; Washington Mutual; Polaroid, and Pets.com.
