"Infras" for short, because you can't have the new and gold-plated without destroying the old granite and bronze.

American conservatives love to repurpose word meanings when they cannot gut them entirely. In the Nixon administration, getting caught in a lie became "that statement is inoperative."

In the Reagan administration, "You guys broke the law" was recast as "Mistakes were made."

In this century, "hiking the Appalachian Trail" was grabbed from the despised environmentalists and made into a euphemism for adultery by the ostentatiously vocal supporters of family values.

After Tuesday, we need not concern ourselves with distinctions between Christianist militas, white nationalists, the Klan, or the Nazis.

The *resident unveiled a new catchall term at his press conference on rebuilding America, one Civil War monument at a time. While some have suggested "Klanazi" embodies the spirit of diversity of the new #altright, and others plump for the devil-wears-swastikas" style embodied by "fashionazi," I take an intermodal approach.

Call them "Infrastructurists."
