How is it better to be a 31-year pol than a 30-year pol? Only Pat McCrory knows.

With an Art-Pope funded Civitas poll showing Governor McCrory trailing Attorney General Cooper by nine percent, the Republican Governors Association rolled out another attack ad last night in the Charlotte TV market:

The ad attacks Cooper as a "30-year politician" who raised taxes as a legislator. It's an interesting contrast with Governor McCrory, who was elected to the Charlotte City Council 31 years ago.

McCrory has more to worry about than HB2 trimming his sails. Cooper got the most votes of any statewide candidate in 2008 and outpolled McCrory by 400,000 votes in 2012.
